“The story circle made me think. It is an emotional journey so it was nice to have support all the way through. It was not a piece of art - in two minutes I had given people a crash course in my childhood, and it changed their opinions.
Guiding You
Robert respected that I was human and it was my script, so even though we tweaked the content it was my decision and I was never forced to put anything in that I didn’t want to. I would recommend him to anyone as he was very patient. I am difficult to teach - most teachers are, but he listened to my questions, guided me, and allowed it to be my own work.
Sit Up And Listen
I wanted to tell the truth and to take a risk, and the finished product was a declaration. I sent a copy to relatives I had never had a good relationship with. They sat up and listened, they picked up the phone, they were proud. I have since used the film as a presentation and to train teachers, and I have gone on to use the skills to make a digital story of my friend’s wedding. She is sending copies to all her friends instead of sending a photo album. I also did her hen night, and I am going to do one of a graduation ball!”

“Good fun! A small group, interesting and informative, easy to access equipment and practice. Relaxed and very useful. Information delivered well, and easy to understand, even if you are not a wiz.”

“As a development manager for an international children’s organisation, I am using films to convey often complex and emotional issues. These films quite simply get the message across quickly and effectively to all viewers - young people, professionals, corporate partners and business sponsors.
Insight And Structure
The whole process is valuable; researching and making the films is exciting and challenging for the young people, and the viewer receives an immediate insight into their lives through the most accessible medium.
The structure delivers a distinct beginning, middle and end to the project in a short time - which is invaluable. The young people recognise their effort and realise a polished product. It is a powerful tool to use in encouraging self esteem, but it also offers unique media material to share with others. ”
